The Master Perfumer Session: The Perfect Partnership
In part four of The Master Perfumer Session, Patty Canac and Clémentine Humeau explain how their unique working relationship brought Prem Rouge to life.
Two Minds, One Vision
"So our respective roles are that Patty and I are one," Clémentine begins, "and in this unity there are two perspectives."
It sounds mystical. But the reality is practical.
"Patty has the clarity of mind to be able to translate Arpit's brief into a scent," she explains. "She will give me the necessary elements and raw materials and she guides me."
Patty interjects with a laugh: "What am I to you, the smart kid?"
How They Work
The process is clear. Patty interprets. Clémentine creates.
"She will put all the raw materials into olfactory alchemy," Clémentine continues. "That is to say that each ingredient, under the leadership of Clémentine, will tell the story that Arpit wanted."
One reads the brief. One builds the scent. One provides direction. One provides execution.
Making It Work
"So it's truly a work of symbiosis, alchemy and continuity," Clémentine concludes.
Two decades of working together. Two different strengths. One shared goal.
They don't just make perfume together. They think together.
