Prem Rouge: Love, layered.
We're often sold a version of love that's flat. A single image, a perfect moment, a tidy ending. But the relationships that endure are never just one thing. They shift between comfort and discovery, between the familiar and the new. Quiet mornings and difficult conversations. Shared laughter and comfortable silence.
Love, when it's real, is never singular.
When we set out to create our first fragrance, we knew we wanted to bottle that truth. Not a single scent, but two layers that could work alone or together. Something that honoured complexity rather than simplifying it.
That's when the name found us. In Hindi, Prem is the word for love. In French, Rouge is the colour of passion. Two languages, two traditions, two halves of the same idea - it felt right for what we were making.
Most fragrances are fixed. You spray them once and they smell the same until they fade. We wanted something different - a scent that could move with you, that you could adjust to mood or season or moment. That's why Batch 001 comes as two bottles, two origins, two ways of wearing.
Layer 1 brings rose and sandalwood - deep, grounding, rooted in memory. Inspired by the Kashmir gardens from childhood, earthy and warm.
Layer 2 carries tuberose and lavender - bright, open, lifted by light. The smell of southern France in late summer, luminous and fleeting.
Each layer works alone. Together, they create something neither could achieve separately - a third scent that exists only where they meet. You decide the balance. More warmth in winter, more brightness in summer. Heavier on one side or equal parts both. It changes each time you wear it.
This is also why Prem Rouge isn't "his" or "hers" - it's designed to be shared. Two bottles on the same shelf. A morning choice made together or apart. One person wears the rose, the other the tuberose. Or you both layer them differently. It's not a gift you hand over once and forget. It's a practice you return to, a ritual that becomes part of how you move through the day.
February tends toward grand gestures. Flowers ordered, reservations made, a single perfect thing chosen and given. We're proposing something quieter and more lasting - not the moment, but the repetition of small moments. Not the display, but the intimacy.
Prem Rouge is an Eau de Peau, which translates to water of the skin. Unlike alcohol-based perfumes, it's made with a water-plant emulsion that sits close rather than projecting across a room. It doesn't announce. It lingers near the skin, discovered only by those who come close enough to notice. In a culture that often equates love with performance - loud declarations, public gestures - there's something quietly radical about a scent reserved for your inner circle.
Batch 001 is a limited edition, made once in small numbers.
